Towing Service Areas In San Diego County

San Diego is on the West Coast of the United States, nestled right on Mexico's border. It's the Southernmost city in California and is home to almost one and a half million people.

Since the Europeans first landed and settled here in the 18th century, San Diego has been a city whose fortune and the Pacific Ocean's warm currents have influenced personality.

With its deepwater harbor, the city has always been an important trading port, and, at one time, it was the tuna fishing capital of the world.

Today, San Diego is the home to the United States Navy's Pacific Fleet (PACFLEET).

San Diego's old town is also known as the birthplace of California.

The heritage here in San Diego recreates life from the early Mexican and American periods.

In the early 1860s, the city's development and focus shifted to the waterfront.

However, Old Town remains an essential center for community and cultural celebration.

San Diego's downtown area immaculately rises straight from the water's edge with its central business district, home to some beautiful heritage buildings.

But to feel the real beat of San Diego, head on over to the Gaslamp area. This 16 blocks historic neighborhood of victorian buildings lights up at night. Theatergoers, locals, and university students pour into the locale, creating a vibrant feel.

Several blocks inland from downtown are the most extensive urban parkland in the US, where nature mixes in with the culture, and some of the world's most fabulous architecture come together.

Balboa Park has over a dozen museums with collections ranging from automobiles, aviation, art, and natural history.

There are more than to dozen different Gardens to explore, including the Alcazar Gardens of Seville.

Balboa Park has miles of paths and trails which connect its many treasures like the San Diego Zoo. It's one of the world's most incredible Zoological parks and one of the few places outside of China where you can come face-to-face with a giant panda.

To truly appreciate San Diego has a relationship with the Seven Seas, head to the downtown waterfront area.

Here you'll find a Maritime Museum and the Navy Pier.

Climb aboard the USS Midway, the longest-serving aircraft carrier of the 21st century.

But, do not forget to look up Point Loma, where historic explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo first step to shore in 1542.

Loma is Spanish for Hill, and the views here are incredibly insane. You'll not want to forget your camera at home, for the pictures are some of the best.

Sometimes, when the weather is right, you can see Mexico at a short distance.

Just north are the dramatic Cliffside neighborhoods of Point Loma that open out into an endless California beaches string. The kind of beaches that inspired good old fashion rock and roll beach songs.

Each Beachside Community is unique.

Mission Beach is relaxed and laid-back.
Compared to neighboring Pacific Beach, also known as "PB" by the locals, which has a vibrant bar scene that likes to stay up late and party like it's 1999.

One of the better ways to explore the coastal neighborhoods is to hire a beach cruiser and hit the Promenade.

And further north of the coastline is the infamous jewel city known as La Jolla. Surrounded by the ocean on three sides, La Jolla is all about its prestine coastline.

Its picturesque streets and beautiful architecture are about as good as "California dreaming" gets.

San Diego is a dream destination not just for the older ones, but for children as well. Here, children can also let their imaginations run wild while visiting the famous local Legoland. Then, while at the historic Belmont Park, the giant dipper has been thrilling kids of all ages for almost 100 years.

San Diegans have a deep abiding respect for the ocean.
The Birch Aquarium plays a vital part as well.

And of course, there's SeaWorld, which has been entertaining and educating visitors from around the globe since 1964.

And, of course, exploring San Diego can build up an appetite. But it's proximity to Mexico and the Sea; there's no surprise for guessing what the specialties are.

So why not wash down that shrimp taco with an ice-cold beer.
Of course, the ideal way to end your San Diego day is to grab a friend, head to the water, and look to the West.
